And now, for your viewing pleasure... Mommy presents PATRICK!!!!!

I'm a grown up and mommy hasn't posted in forever. She's sorry.

Okay I'm not really a grown up. But I am a preschooler. I started yesterday. I'm such a big kid now. I talk in full on sentences, bossing my parents around, yelling at everyone, especailly when I don't get my own way, and pretty soon, mommy says, she's going to put me in a big kids bed. She keeps talking about Monday. I'm not sure why.

Pics are coming soon, she promises. Right now she's at work and there aren't a lot of pics up, but if you have her as a facebook friend, you've probably seen them on there.

Last week we bought my halloween costume from Costco. I was going to be a giraffe. It didn't fit. The hood wouldn't fit over my head. I'm sad now. I really wanted to be a giraffe, but apparently mommy says I'm to tall to be one. That doesn't make sense to me, but not a whole lot does.

I met Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber from Veggie Tales a few weeks ago. I love Bob and Larry. I sing there song all the time. I couldn't stop hugging them. It's so neat to meet my heroes.

Mom is really slow

I keep telling her to hurry up and post before I'm all grown up.

Well actually it's more just "hurry up mommy, come on mommy, hurry up." I don't like to miss my T.V. shows at all, so I am always dragging mommy around, but she says she's dragging me around. Silly mommy.

I am not sure what we told you last time, so here's a very quick update.

I know all my letters and I can count up to 14. I love coloring and music, especially when it comes to playing my electric guitar.

But most of all, I love to type. Did you know that a keyboard has all the letters on it? It does. It's really neat and it makes a very cool clicking sound. I love to look for the letters on the keyboard. I don't know why mommys keyboard is different than the ones on the computer Auntie Gail got me for christmas though. Those letters are all in order. The ones on mommy's computer keyboard don't make any sort of sense at all. It's not even as if they spell anything special.

I love to associate animals with the sounds that they make and I love to tell mommy what letter they start with. I know that Patrick starts with a P. So does Papa and our dog Prince, but Dog starts with a D. We were talking about all the animals on our way home yesterday. I know that Horse starts with H, but mommy and I disagree when it comes to Kat and Kow. She says they start with C's. I know what sound K makes. They start with a K. Silly mommy.

I'm 2 years, 1 month and 2 days old

And I'm really really really sorry that I haven't been able to update this blog in over a month. Mommy has been so busy. So have I.

I had a GREAT birthday. Lots of present, lots of cake (which by the way is my new favorite word), and lots of people.

I learned a new song. Old McDonald. I love doing the animal noises. Especially Moo and Neigh. Mommy says I do them better than she can.

Mommy is working on potty training with me, and although it's hard, I'm beginning to get it a little bit. Mostly though I think it's much more fun to make fart noises with my mouth.

I know most of my letters and numbers now. Now it's just a matter of time before I start getting them in the right order. It's hard to remember all 26 letters and which order they go in. Mommy says I'll get it in the next few months. She's pretty sure of that.

I have a birthday party to go to this weekend for my friend Austin from School. He's three and he's soooo cool. He loves Mickey Mouse and Pirates and we play all the time at school. I learned how to say Ahoy Matey and Periscope from him. He's a little bit bossy but he's still one of the coolest guys I know.

I'm also learning a lot about sharing at school, and as long as Kurtis doesn't try to take my toys from me, I'm willing to share them, but he has to ask me "please" first.

Three days a week I spend with my Papa. He and I are becoming very good friends and we love to go on walks together with our dog "Prince" (although secretly mommy calls him El Dum Dum Dog). The other day Papa and I found a pinecone. I love to smell my pinecone and to play with it, although my mommy won't let me take it to bed, which I don't like.

But overall, life is pretty good for being two. I'm learning more every day and I promise, I'll try to get my mommy on the computer more often, to actually talk about me.

I make mommy laugh

Last night her new camera finally arrived. She was so excited to be able to take good pictures of me growing up (maybe now she'll get some new ones on this blog). So I took her old camera that doesn't work anymore and told her to "Cheese Mommy". She knew what that meant. I took lots of pictures of her on that camera. It's too bad that it doesn't really work. She won't let me play with her new one. She's too afraid I'll break that. Maybe one day I'll be a professional photographer.

Playschool

Thats what mommy calls it anyways. It's really more of a daycare with lots of playing and preschool activities. It's a lot of fun. I've been going for two whole weeks now on a regular basis. I've made two really good friends there. Curtis and Sawyer. Curtis is three months younger and Sawyer is one month and a day older. We have a lot of fun chasing eachother around the yard and chasing the dogs. I draw almost every day and I gave up eating the crayons. My teacher Miss Laura says she wants to take us outside but it's been so cold lately that that's hard to do when the ground isn't drying off.

I'm 23 months

Mommy's heart is breaking cause I'm growing up. She says she loves me so much but she wants me to stop growing up so fast. She keeps telling me that it seems like just yesterday that I was born. I keep trying to tell her that it wasn't. I've been talking up a storm lately. I know all of my colors and a lot of my numbers and letters. My favorite show in the entire world is Sesame Street. I especially love Elmo and Ernie but Cookie Monster and AbbyCaddaby are close seconds.

I love to sing and I sing a lot. My two favorite songs are Sing a Song (from Sesame Street) and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but those are sometimes boring because there are no motions to them like Itsy Bitsy Spider. I suprised my mommy when I showed her I knew how to do that. She was very proud of me, but there isn't much that doesn't make my mom proud of me. To her, I am her entire world.

Mom says I talk to much

Well what in the world does she want? First I didn't say enough. She was really worried that my speech would be delayed. She was WRONG. Not only can I say probably close to 100 words, I'm starting to put two word sentences together. Yesterday she put on my shoes and sweatshirt and I grabbed her hand and said "go now". Mom was impressed. I'm finally starting to figure this speech thing out. I've known what I was saying all along, but the grownups can finally understand me.

I'm 21 months and constantly in trouble. Mom always is saying no to me, especially when it comes to crayons. Honestly I'd much rather have pens but for some silly reason, mom thinks they make even more of a mess than crayons. I love to draw on everything, and everyone. I carry crayons everywhere and I think that they make the world so much more colorful. As I stated in my previous posts, adults tend to not let me eat crayons, which I must say puts me in a bad bad bad mood, which everyone hears about. I'm just experimenting, and I happen to think crayons taste very good.

My mom is driving me insane

I'm twenty months now and every time I try to do something she's always saying No no Patrick. Put that down Patrick. For once, just for once I wish she'd let me get into mischief. I went to school last week when my Auntie Kate was sick, and you know what they said to me? They told me not to eat my crayons. I'll tell you this, being a toddler is hard work. I have to take naps. I have to eat vegetables. I can't eat crayons, I can't climb on the oven door, and every time I try to help unload the dishwasher, mommy locks me out and empties the only rack I can reach before letting me back in.

Not to mention, when we were in Carmel, my mom came up with this torture method of letting me scream it out. Now I have to go to bed every night by myself at 8:30. It's SOOOOO NOT FAIR. I can't wait to grow up.

A WHOLE YEAR AND A HALF

I am officially 18 months today and very very good at driving my parents crazy. Mom swears there's no more kids in her future, but I'm not so sure about that.
I am offically 34.75 inches tall and 24.12 lbs. I walk EVERYWHERE, and run most places. I'm getting real good at getting away from mommy and daddy and pretending that I don't understand what they're saying. I can say lots of words now.
Some of my words include, Car, Bye, Shoe, Two, Cool, and UhOh.
I'm a really big help to my mommy. I love to sort laundry and watch it spin around in the dryer. I also like to help unload the dishwasher although mommy is nervous with knives and forks.

Almost 15 months and growing

Gosh guys, I'm sorry I haven't been updating this as much as we should have been. I rarely let my mom have actual computer time to type things up. She's a busy lady chasing me around all the time. I've figured out how to operate baby gates and baby latches. Mom says I'm too smart. Nana agrees with her. I'm just a typical toddler figuring out exactly how this world works around me. What fun are baby locks?

At my 12 month appointment I was 31 inches and 21 pounds. We don't know how tall I am right now, but we do know I'm somewhere around 23 pounds. Mom is guessing that I'm probably 32 inches. She just tells me that I'm getting heavier every day.

Christmas was incredibly fun, but tiring. All these houses and food and presents and people. For a guy who wasn't quite one at the time, it was a little bit overwhelming but next year I'll be better prepared.

I had my birthday party on January 12 up at my Nanas house. It was a lot of fun and I got way too many toys.

Since the weather has gotten nicer we've been going to the park A LOT. Let me tell you, if you haven't been to the park, you've got to go. It's seriously so much fun. The slides are awsome, the swings are fun and the crawl tubes are a great way to get exercise.

Last weekend was Easter. My second. Mom is kind of upset that all my firsts are done and over with but at the same time, she's glad that I'm growing up. I had a great time hunting eggs, but I didn't understand why everyone wanted me to put them into my basket. I was having way to much fun carrying them around.

Okay well thats about it for now and I'm really really sorry that I haven't been on here in so long. I promise I'll try to get my mom on here more often.

See you later!

Patrick.
PS, look for new pics.

Where did time go?

I can't beleive it's already December. Our christmas tree is up and so very interesting when the lights are on. I can pull myself up and cruise around furniture. I know to run to mommy when Daddy is going to get me. She's a really great protector, and I know she'll help me to get daddy back. I love to torture our cats. Especially Mia. She's my favorite, and the most patient with me, most of the time. Chloe is a scaredy cat, but I still like her.

I was really not feeling well the later part of November including Thanksgiving so I stayed at home with mommy and daddy. We didn't do anything. They weren't feeling well either. On Friday after thanksgiving (Novemver 24) I took my first steps. I took five steps before falling down. You still couldn't call what I do "walking" per say but I do like to try. It's just that crawling is so much faster.

We learned last week that my brothers are probably going to move to Tenesee. That's a hard thing to deal with. I love them very much and if they move, I'm going to miss them sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

Theres going to be a lot going on in the next few weeks. I have a friends b-day party that I will be going to soon and then christmas and my very own b-day party.

Mom says she can't beleive I'm going to be one. I can't beleive how much she cries over that. Didn't she know I was going to grow up? I guess not. She keeps telling me to stay little but I don't think that that is going to happen anytime soon. I'm already in 12 month clothes, and practically 18 month clothes for length. It's just my weight that's holding me back. Mommy stays I'm still a string bean. But I think she kind of likes it because it means that she doesn't have to lug a 25 pound baby everywhere. I am beginning to catch up though. I think I might even be 20 pounds now.

I've got eight teeth now and chew absolutely everything in sight. Including mommy and daddy's arms legs, and sometimes even feet. I like feet. I do not know why.

Thursday, November 1, 2007

I was bugs bunny for Halloween. I had a lot of fun going around the mall and seeing all the other kids dressed up. I didn't cry at all. I chewed happily on the candy wrappers of the candy I got, and even mangaged to get one of them opened. That was fun. Sweet tarts. Now what I cannot understand is why they call them sweet tarts when they're so sour?

Mom promises pics soon but for right now she's so busy.

Nothing but trouble

Thats me to the "tee" I am trouble. I'm pulling myself up on furniture and pulling everything else off. At my nine month appointment I was 29.5 inches and 18.4 pounds, so I'm still too skinny for my height but no one seems to think it's a problem, especially mama and Nana when they are toting me around in their arms. I still don't have much hair, although it's beginning to come in thicker and longer on top. I'm kind of jealous of all the other babies with hair.

And I'm EIGHT MONTHS OLD

Boy does that sound old or what? Maybe not to everyone else but to mama it seems so old. She says I'll always be her little baby. I've got news for her. I'm not so little. I don't know how much I weigh but I'm taller than I was and I'm growing. Mom's moved me officially into my big boy car seat. So no more convertible car seats for us. Yay. It really is so much more comfortalbe. I'm crawling everywhere and every day it gets a little bit easier. I stick everything I can find into my mouth, which drives mom and dad crazy but hey I'm a cute baby and it'w what I do best.
Audrey's birthday party was a lot of fun. I had my first taste of birthday cake. That stuff is pretty good. I think I'm going to like birthday parties.
And now my newest friend has been born. Miss Emily Grace. Hi Emily. I can't wait to meet you and pull your hair when you get older.

Seven months and mobile

Well it's official. I'm a crawler. I'm still a little bit slow at it, but I'm gonna get it. Mostly I'm a reacher. I'll get down on my belly and STRECHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH to try and reach whatever it is that I want. Theres a lot of interesting things out there to get. Moms shoes, a candy wrapper, socks, bibs..... you name it I'm after it. My new favorite toy is actually a shoe box. Why not? It makes a great drum.

I turned seven months on August 2 and I'm growing way to rapidly for my own good, or at least that's what mom keeps telling me. I'm still just as skinny as I ever was, but I'm long. Thats why in most my pictures you'll notice overalls. They're the only thing we can find that fit okay. I'm attempting to speak. I say Nana, Mama, and Dada, occasionally but I get confused and end up saying Nama or Dama. Nobody understands what I'm trying to say other than you people and my mom of course when we're busy typing this. When she's not typing, the magical ability to understand me just vanishes into thin air and she asks me the most ridiculous questions that have absolutely nothing to do with what I'm trying to tell her. Thats the way everyone is. It's no wonder I sleep so long at night. Trying to talk to these people is EXHAUSTING.

We're going to one of my friends birthday parties on Saturday. It's her first birthday. I want her present, but mommy says not until christmas or my birthday. I can't wait. Mommy and Daddy can. They keep telling me that I'm growing up too fast. I can't help it. They fed me lots of nutritious food and before I knew it, I was tall. The doctor and nurses say I'm going to be tall. Mom hope so. She says just not too soon.

Well thats about it for tonight. It's 9:30 and I've got to go to bed. I'm exhausted. So goonight everyone. I hope to see you soon.

Love, Patrick

Pictures

This is gonna be a really short blog. I'm just saying that in advance. Mostly I just came on to log in pictures. I'll try to post more as time goes on. Moms just really busy.

What a month

So I'm six whole months now and longer than I should be. Mom sometimes wishes I was still an itty bitty baby but she loves the fact that most of the time I sleep through the night. We all have our bad nights, babies or grown ups.
My great grandpa died last month. That was really hard on my mom. She says he was the strongest man she's ever known. He loved me so much. Even in the last few days he was alive when he couldn't sit up on his own or eat or drink anything, he managed to smile when he saw me. Moms very glad he got a chance to know me, and even though I'll never really remember him, I'm still glad I got a chance to meet him.
I had my first fourth of July. BBQ is good stuff. I hung out with my friend Justus and mom tried to pass me off to people but I am beginning to really become introverted unless its someone I know really well so I pretty much stuck very close to my parents. People I don't know scare me. Moms hoping I'll outgrow that stage soon, just as long as I don't outgrow my clothes. My 3-6 months are all too short for me now. I have no choice but to wear big long clothes. Most of them are too long for me, but thats okay because its summer and I can get away with shorts. That is if we could find shorts to fit me. I've got this problem. Mom calls it a string bean issue. She says I'm just too long and too skinny. All my pants fall off of me except for overalls.
Anyways, back to the fourth of July. The weather was hot. Very hot. I like it much cooler than that. Eighty degrees is good, but it didn't cool down to eighty degrees until about 9:30 that night. I loved the fireworks. Those are very pretty and very bright, especially for blue eyed boys like me, but I didn't like those noises. When I grow up maybe I'll make a firecracker thats bright and colorful but quiet.
Mom promises that pics will be posted soon but for right now, she's really busy trying to get other stuff accompished.

Love always, Patrick.
